Are you telling me that if you go into Tools|Options|Security|Saved Password that you see nothing listed? You know that if you delete cookies that you will not have the passwords available? You will have to start from scratch.
As for not wanting to save passwords, I have never seen a case that I see a request to save a passwords, and I say yes, and the password is not saved. Several sites will not even ask, for sake of security. If you want 2.0.17, try the
localized downloads. In your case, you want the English-GB.
I suggest that you do a custom install, in a new folder. Then, you will have to create a new profile. It will be a bit of work to do it right, but you cannot expect that the FF3 profile formats which are different for a number of files, be usable with FF2.x.
I have had absolutely no problem with 3.0.3, and have kept 2.0.0.17, each with a different profile.
Remember that one two updates are likely to occur for 2.x, and will have reach end-of-life by the end of the year.
