Mozilla Question

Postby James » Wed 04 Dec, 2002 10:36 am

I downloaded the latest Mozilla build and discovered upon installing it that the "Print" button at the top of the page was tripled! There are two "Print" buttons side by side and an arrow beside them which when clicked reveals a third "Print" button. Has anyone any idea of what this is all about and has anyone else seen this before? Thanks.

Never seen this before, but if it is a nightly, you should check if there has been a bug report. By the way, I never have the Print button on, so it would be interesting to see what happens. My goodness! It is weird!. I get two print icons side by side, and an equivalent set of red lights, below, and clicking on the tab on the right, I get text Print, Print Preview. The latter is good, but someone got carried away.
I will look into it, later. My build was yesterday's #4.

Sounds very intresting. I might wait until the 1.3 Alpha is announced before I switch back to the nightlies. DJGM's Preview Release and Mozilla 1.21 should do for now :)

I am getting nightlies every five days or so. I just do not have the time. And, except for that strange behavior the 1.3a nightlies have been fine.
Even better, if you do not want the Print button, as I do not.

If you're having Mozilla trouble, try removing the following files (Try one at a time in this order):

XUL.mfl (Remove that first!!! Prime cause of UI problems!!!)
Any other .mfl files (They are just wasting space)
compreg.dat
chrome.rdf (although this can break addons that add their own UI components)
localstore.rdf
Restore your preferences file from prefs.bak (if it exists)
If you're only using one profile, registry.dat can go too (We're hitting last resort if we make it to this though!)

If all else fails, back up your bookmarks and mail, completely remove both Mozilla and the profile, and install a fresh copy with a new profile.

I got a new build, and deleted XUL.mfl file, no success. Then, I went for broke deleting the entire Chrome folder of my profile, and that did it.
In the past, I found out that if had a standard skin, and notice problems of this kind, I go after the chrome folder. chrome.rdf is a bit more restrained,
but , this is the way I started.
