My opinion about the DJGM Preview Release

Postby Mandrake » Wed 04 Dec, 2002 7:04 pm

I've been testing it for a few hours now, and the Navigator component seems stable with a fresh install and a new profile. I also did not find any problems converting my Communicator 4.51 profile to Netscape 7 at all. Looks good for a Preview Release to me :D

So, you did not getc the Sidebar Alert? Aside for the Alert, and the fact that it is a Navigator only, it is fine in every way.

Question

Postby Fulvio » Tue 10 Dec, 2002 11:34 pm

Mandrake,
do you feel that the adblocker is working. My test site is home.netscape.com ,and I get a popup every time I enter the site. Only the Prefbar will suppress all popups. I have not kept the Prefbar off long enough, but I heard reports that the Adblocker will "exempt some popups.
Any input from others is appreciated, as well.

Fulvio, in the Netscape prefrences - there is an option for which sites should be allowed to run popup ads by default aol sites like Netscape.com , AIM.com, cnn.com and otheres are allowed to run popup ads, this easily turned off, however.

Can you de-select AOL/AIM or do they get installed anyway?
