navigation bar memory??

On the Navigation Bar, to the right of the current URL, is a down
arrow that brings up a list of previous URL hits. Mine has ceased to
remember visited URLs. What controls how this works? How can
I get seamonkey 2.0.11 to start remembering where I've been???

I don't know about Seamonkey.
But on Firefox, see: Tools > Options > [tab] Privacy. Review Custom Settings.

Seamonkey 2.0.11 was released in December 2010. There have been many updates, since then. The current one is 2.7.2, but the settings are pretty much the same, I think. You should look at Preferences|Privacy and Security| check list of items to be cleared on closing Seamonkey. I have a check mark, next to Location Bar. Unchecked it.
Also, click on Help|Check for Updates. You should be directed to to the nearest update.

Go to: Edit | Preferences | Browser | History | Location Bar History | Clear Location Bar

The 'Location Bar' only remembers locations that are typed in, it doesn't remember any locations accessed by links in a web page or by bookmarks, etc.

But if (when??) I inadvertently mistype a URL, is there any way
to remove just that URL from the memory??
