Postby RBock20 » Sun 08 Dec, 2002 10:28 pm

When I use my Netscape borwser my navigation buttons, back foward, do not work... I tried re-installing and installing a different version from this site... But nothing works... I must have another program conflicting but I can even begin to determine what that may be. can any one please help me?

Which Netscape version are you having this problem with?
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20021120 Netscape/7.01 (CK-DJGM-i.net)
SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

It helps to know what Netscape, but my bet is that since installing/reinstalling does not work, it is a profile problem, more common that having a program problem. That can be fixed a couple of different ways, or more.
1.If you are not using a 'skin" different from Modern, change to it. From: Edit/Preferences/Appearance/Themes
2. Delete the Chrome folder from the profile, not from the program. It will be rebuilt, and you should be ok.
3. Create a new profile. Same parameters, different name. This is especially true if you share profille with more than one program.
4. Download the Prefbar, from http://www.xulplanet.com?downloads
Customize, and select Back and Forward from it. Just use these buttons.
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20021120 Netscape/7.01 (Compact)

This is the same problem that brought me to this site. The answer is in the archives of this forum...Look into your preferences, and find out how many pages you want the browser to remember. Mine was installed with those topics 0. Try finding the exact answer in the Archives.

Go:
Edit/pref/navigator/history...increase from 0 to whatever.
