Need Router Advice

Postby mindybiz » Sun 21 Nov, 2010 2:27 pm

I have an older Netgear router (say 6-7 years old) and right not there are about 5 computers in the house at one time. It seems that sometimes things are moving real slow. Its there maybe a newer type router that can handle numerous computers at one time without being slow? Thanks

If you can give us some more information, then we should be able to help you out. To start off with, what sort of internet connection do you have (ADSL, Cable etc), and how fast is it? Is your current setup a separate modem and router, or a combo modem/router unit? What are the model numbers of your modem/router? Are you computers hooked up through WiFi or via ethernet cables or both? Could you be a bit more specific with the sorts of speed issues you're experiencing?

Thanks.
