I want to upgrade to a newer version of netscape but I do not want to lose the ability to get my email (currently it is on a toolbar). My email is netcom and it shows up on the computer - I upgraded once several years ago (it was 6.0 I think) but I had to go back to 4.79 to get my email. Can anyone help?

Netscape 7.2 is the last version of Netscape that has an inbuilt mail client. You can download Netscape 7.2 from the Netscape Browser Archive.

Netscape 6.0 also included a mail client. Are you sure you didn't download Netscape 8.0 rather than 6.0?

SeaMonkey has become the successor to the Mozilla suite, (and by extension) Netscape Communicator. Versions for Windows, Linux, and Macintosh (MacOS) can be downloaded from the above page.

Since I never replaced Netscape Communicator with SeaMonkey, I do not know if SeaMonkey (once installed) will automatically detect your profile from the Netscape installation and import it. I'm sure someone here has done this and knows the answer. I do know that SeaMonkey will detect a profile previously used with the Mozilla suite and will use that.

Mozilla Suite can convert a Netscape 4.5+ profile to its own format. Since Seamonkey is, more or less, the same code, I'd wager it can as well.
