Netscape 4.8 jpg image preference

Postby sculp » Mon 23 Dec, 2002 12:06 pm

Using Partition Magic, I have two, nearly identical Windows ME
partitions. One is for messing around and the other is my main OS. Communicator 4.8 is installed in both.

My problem is in the way Communicator views jpg pictures. One of the Communicators views jpg’s handled internally. That is my preference, but I didn’t change anything to get it. The other always spawns an external viewer (Graphic Workshop) to view the picture.

In both OS’es, Graphic Workshop is the default viewer in Explorer.

I have reloaded Communicator several times, but it seems to make no difference—jpg never seems to come up as being handled by Navigator. I have tried to edit the “applicationsâ€

Can someone help me?

Thank you.

I doubt that this will be of any help, but I have the same set up for my 4.78. The external is set to be opened by Irfan View. The only difference I see is that one is called gif image, and the other gif file. And, I can edit the Navigator only to go to disk, should I wish. One thing that you do no say is if you have two separate profiles.
I have two partitions, but only one 4.78. If I have a chance, I will install one 4.x on the other drive.

I am using 4.08, just installed in another drive, and it looks fine.
