Netscape 7.0 Address Book Question

Postby atom » Fri 06 Dec, 2002 12:07 am

Hello. I'm new to this, but perhaps someone can help me. I just started using Netscape 7.0. I play music and have a large email list who I send updates to. I also have a small friend and family list. Ihave them as two different address books. When I try to type a new email to a friend, who is on the small list, it takes a long time (I imagine because the auto finish function is checked on the preference tab as checking 'Local Address Books'). Is there anyway to make it so Netscape will only check the small friend and family address book so that it doesn't take a really long time for it to finally find the name I'm looking for? Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions on fixing this.
Thanks very much for reading!

I assume you have your address books in different "folders" within NS mail. If so, when begin to write email, go to address book and highlight the file that has the address you want to use. Then, try to begin writing the address of the recipient. I think that will work. Your other option is to combine both address books. That is easy to do if you want to do that.

Do not bother with the autofinish. I never seen anything more distracting and incorrect. If I send to an address which is not in any address book, it tries to complete with the same domain which I use. But, if you are to an address in your address book, open the address book, and select the address book which you want. This is what humpd meant.
