Netscape 7.01 freezing in OS 9.2.2

Postby bliss » Thu 11 Dec, 2003 1:02 pm

When I try to access some pages it will freeze my computer everytime. What am I doing wrong - I've downloaded the latest plugins, cleared my cache. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Although you say you're using Netscape 7.01, your user agent says that you are using Netscape 7.02, so we'll assume that that is what you're using.

Some webpages using proprietary JavaScript or DHTML made explicitly for IE on Windows will cause Netscape and most other browsers to crash. What sites in particular are crashing?

Here is one:

Why does it freeze my entire computer. I can't "force quit" Netscape - I have to restart the computer.

Site loads fine in Mozilla 1.5 under WinXP, perhaps you ought to consider upgrading. (Moz 1.3.1 for Mac OS 9 is around)

Note, however, that the site in question comes up flawlessly with Netscape 7.02 under Win95 as well. I am inclined to believe this could be a PC vs. Mac issue here, but I'm curious to find out more.

Site loads fine and very good in Netscape 4.8 & Netscape 7.02....I use MacOs 9.2.2

How many RAM you give your browser for working.

50,000K - I also have IE installed on this machine and it loads this page fine. Still wondering why it freezes my entire computer. Thanks for the help.
