I upgraded to the new Spamkiller 7, works fine.
Now, suddenly my Netscape 7.2 email access is totally screwed up. Several things might happen: I may get an error message stating the STAT etc etc is all wrong, cannot connect.
Or I may find that the server setting has been changed from the desired "pop.purehost.com" to a most mysterious string of numbers "127.0.0.1" which means nothing to me and I have no idea where it comes from.
But no matter how often I try to change back to my correct server setting, the string of numbers somehow reappears, creating yet another error message "Sending of login did not succeed. Mail server pop.purehost.com responded: login failed."
To top it off, no log-on window appears as it usually would to permit me to enter my password.
I did check the settings window: down at the bottom where there is a "browse" option the string of info reads: Application Data\Mozilla...Mail\pop-purehost-5.com" and I do not know what the "5" means or where it came from. Does this make any difference?
Meanwhile, the computer continues its attempt to connect to download email, and I cannot make it stop unless I close down Netscape altogether....jeepers creepers!
What a mess!!! What has happened? Can anyone help me untangle this mess? I'm counting on my dear 'Scapers out there to solve this mytery for me.
