Well, you can always install a later JRE manually. I'm guessing this is a comatibility issue.
IMO, Java is only used for applications and not interactive Web content anymore, that title belongs to Macromedia Flash and Shockwave.

Well, I'm guessing that would probably be Net2Phone, AOL on Desktop, Netscape ISP on Desktop, Desktop Weather, and Desktop Navigator. I guess I'll see when I install it.

What is the point of having a Pop-Up Blocker in the new Netscape toolbar when the Pop-Up Blocker is already contained within the Preferences? :?

My impressions of Netscape 7.2:

First of all, it is essentially what I had expected it to be; which is to say a relabeled version of Mozilla 1.7 with extra odds and ends. I have been using Mozilla 1.7 for three months (since it was in Release Candidate form), so I find no surprises with Netscape 7.2's major features or rendering capability. My comments concentrate on the features in Netscape 7.2 not present in Mozilla.

One of my favorite proprietary features of Netscape is the integrated Instant Messanger accessory in the sidebar. It has changed appearance slightly since Netscape 7.02 (the last Netscape release I used extensively), but otherwise offers what I expected it to. It is capable of connecting to either the AIM or ICQ networks (although not both at the same time), and is a convenient feature, although it is slightly more limited in features than the standalone AIM or ICQ applications.

The Netscape Toolbar is the most obvious new feature at first glance. I personally find it to be of marginal use, although I think it's an interesting feature and I am extremely glad that this Netscape accessory is finally available for the browser of the same name!

I was disappointed that Netscape was the only search engine provided in the integrated Search facility by default; a quick visit to Mycroft at mozdev.org allowed me to restore Google and other engines to the list.

Netscape ships with some third-party software, specifically "Desktop Weather by The Weather Channel," McAfee Clinic Activator, and Flash and Java plugins. I didn't install any of these; as I already had Flash and Java installed and didn't want the other two. I haven't seen any sign of the infamous Desktop Navigator as of yet...

No, I'm guessing that just turns it on and off via the toolbar, much like Prefbar.

I noticed something with NS front page just now. I mentioned before that I didn't get an Upgrade NS prompt, now I get a Switch to Netscape prompt. it appears that if you use a version of Netscape 7 earlier than 7.2 you get the Upgrade prompt, if you are using another browser such as Netscape 6 or earlier, Mozilla (maybe) or Ie, you will get the Switch prompt.

Well, I'll give AOL credit.
Netscape Network is the default portal for AOL Instant Messenger, many many people use that. If they're using it with IE (which I'm guessing they would be) at least they would be able to consider upgrading, since Netscape (the browser) was only listed as a small block of text on Netscape (the portal).
I never thought I'd say this since 1998, but good job to AOL, for promoting Netscape as a browser and not a portal.

I have a few themes installed in my NS7.1 at home, I'm thinking I should remove them before running the NS7.2 install, correct?

If they're in your profile, yes. If they're in the install directory, the installer will do that automatically.

this new Netscape bar is really not so good.
1. every search performed from this bar will use netscape search, which doesnt support language other than english
2.counting the blocked pop-ups looks fine, except it shows a deeper blue color when activated, which looks not so good.
3.too many bars make the interface crowded, i couldnt show netscape bar and personal tool bar together in order to get enough space for browsing.
