Netscape 7 & file type associations

Postby grussak » Mon 18 Nov, 2002 9:05 am

I'd like to get off-line HTML files to open at least without the profile manager and preferrably without the splash screen, too. I tried setting up the Windows file type association by adding -nosplash or -quiet and -P <name> and Netscape does indeed open the file sans splash screen and profile manager. But it also complains that Netscape is no longer the default browser. If I select 'Yes', Netscape resets the file type association to its default. Shouldn't the normal command line switches work for the file type associations? Is there a way to get my desired result?

I would not know. I have been doing many rash things, but it will be a long time before I set NS7 as my default browser. 4.8 is fine. But, I will look into this.
