One item though has been plaguing me. For the past three days , the first access of the day yielded only incomplete toolbars, and blank page. On restarting NS Browser, everything was fine. It seems as if I had to double kick it to wake it up.

Seen it quit abit - No idea why.

This was new information, if I remember right Netscape was using Install Shield 6.x earlier.
NSIS (Nullsoft Scriptable Install System) is open source utility hosted by Sourceforge.net. Home page is located at http://nsis.sourceforge.net/ .

I have been looking around, and had not seen a report about it. And, it did the same thing today. I could get the mail button though, and the entire Personal toolbar has the Customize ugly button which is otherwise gone.
I can live with it.

Pretty well discussed at:

Another NSB review forum]

You may have to login, I used my AOL Screen Name.

Seems to be pretty common -

Delete PROFILE problem

Postby captjlddavis » Mon 06 Dec, 2004 4:19 pm

Is anyone else experiencing a problem when you delete a profile via Profile manager ?

INTERMITENT PROBLEM

From PM - delete profile - delete files -

Seems to create havoc - deletes profile FILES - does NOT update "profile.ini"

Only way I could get rid of reference to the deleted profile was by manually editing "profile.ini" file

I think you have to maintain the sequence when you edit the file, but not real sure ?

Netscape want more opinions from you.

Netscape is having a survey, http://community.netscape.com/n/pfx/for ... =221&tsn=1

Please log in and tell Netscape what you think about the Prototype Browser.

I had reported the problem on the Technical Issues forum. I would have never looked for under "General". I installed the browser on the first day that it came out. The problem may have been there all along.

I think that if things continue this way, it is the end of testing this particular build. It did it again this AM, and I get a timeout when I want to signon It cannot find the "screenname.aol.com". Poo sick puppy!

They have a lot to work on that browser. Anyway, I refuse to support that browser or even test it anymore unless they come up with a linux version. I believe aol is just trying to get users to there website and screename service with there browser if they only have a windows version.

Remember that this is the very first release, and only to a few users. But, if you are, primarily, a Linux user there is no reason why you even think of using it, or even less to test it.

No, Netscape 7.x used Mozilla's own installer, they just rebranded it.

I think that's a wrong decision, Mozilla's installer is better suited for Mozilla-based products.

NSIS (Nullsoft Scriptable Install System) is open source utility hosted by Sourceforge.net.

Good question,
I guess they are working on one, we just need to send our voices to them that we all want a Mac version of the prototype.
