Netscape causes error in JVM.dll and closes

Postby yankee1620 » Fri 09 Jan, 2004 7:48 am

Using NS 4.8 for mail. 7.01 for browser.

When using NS4.8 and I click on a link of course it uses the NS 4.8 browser. Every time I click on a link and the page comes up, I get a popup that says...*Netscape has caused an error in JVM.dll. NS will now close.*
Does it every time.

Also in both NS4.8 and NS 7.01 I am told constantly that I do NOT have javascript enabled when I DO have them enabled!

The problems are so consisient that it is making both NS 4.8 and NS 7.01 just about useless...it is very frustrating!!

Any ideas?

TIA :?

It is, actually, a Java problem. I did a search, and I found a number of links showing that Java is far from being a smooth product, in some cases. I will leave you with a link which may help you, if you feel like reading it. It may have something to do with the Java version. http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/install-windows.html
