If the email client for 4.x were ever altered to allow for multiple POP accounts, it would probably extend it's life. I know I would use it on my slow home machine.

I'm not anti-Netscape. Well, I hate and loathe Netscape 4, but I don't hate anything containing Gecko. I just prefer Mozilla...

I was using Mozilla well before 6.0, and I'd pick 6.0 rather than 4.anything

6.0 was so buggy it wasnt funny - I most certainly used 4.74 during the Netscape 6.0/6.01 period. I tried Mozilla at 0.7 - that wasnt much better than NS 6, but by Mozilla 0.9 I had pretty much switched to mozilla full time :)

Netscape
* 4.0 CSS support - Crashes browser occasionally, absolutely terrible.
* 4.5-4.70 CSS support - Crashes every so often, terrible.
* Recent 4.x versions (4.74+) - Crashes quite rarely, but very limited, very bad.
You'd think a browser from 1999 could support 1996 standards.

* 6.0 CSS support - Good. Virtually no crashes, very capable, including partial CSS2.
* 6.1-7.1 CSS support - Progressively moves from Very Good to Excellent. Mozilla 1.5's better support for CSS3 makes it even better.
6.1+ is good, 4.x stinks. http://www.macedition.com/cb. I imagine it was quite annoying that Netscape 4.0x handled the valid code by... crashing.
MacEdition: Netscape Must Die! (2000) then Should Netscape Still Die (around 6.0 release) then Netscape's baaa-aack (6.1.)

Well there's a surprise... no-one has voted for Netscape 6! I voted for Netscape 7, although I actually quite like Netscape 4 in some ways.

However, I do love Netscape 3.0. It definately has a certain charm to it, and I find I can't help myself from opening it every so often.
