Netscape.exe

Where can I get the netscape.exe file,
so that I can read .PL files?
As you can see, I'm on top of it all...

I can tell you this much. .pl files are Perl script file, and netscape.exe is the file which starts Netscape, which you have. I spent the past five minutes trying to get that big question mark off my face, but it has not worked.

Netscape.exe

Postby Robert Burns » Tue 24 Dec, 2002 6:51 pm

For some strange reason Windows can't find it and
I keep getting this "File can't be found" error message,
so I take a look at the files in my C drive and there is
no Netscape at all.
Talk to me about question marks will ya?

Robert,

As far as I know, Perl (*.pl) files can be read and edited with a text editor. Putting them on a webpage should execute them.

Netscape.exe

I'd like to thank you for the suggestions but I think it's one
of those mysteries of life; where something must be there
but it isn't. Maybe the ghost of Christmas present will give
me the answer tonight.

This tells me the entire story. You say that you are looking for netscape.exe, and it cannot be found. If you had NS4.x, and , unwisely, removed it, it must have been your default browser, and of course Windows will not find it. The .exe file for NS6/7 is a bit different: netscp.exe, and you will find it into the NS7 folder.
Solution to your problem? May be to select NS7 as your default browser. I have not removed NS4.x, which is still my default browser.
