I never did download Netscape 9, should I do that first or will it even matter. I have slow dial up so downloading anything is a slow process. I hope after downloading Seamonkey it's not complicated to transfer all my current old emails, profile, etc., etc. over to Seamonkey..
To summarize: Netscape 7.2 and SeaMonkey are suitres, which contain both Mail and Browser. Unless you messed up somewhere along the line, when you open Seamonkey it should pick up that profile, ptreviously, used by Netscape7.2. I had uninstalled NS7.2 in November, and SeaMonkey is using Mail, except for the over two month gap. So, unless you messed up the 7.2 profile, you will be ok. No extra work is needed.
NS8 and 9 are browser only, and are, completely independent of NS7.2 or SeaMonkey.
One can also install only the browser portion of SeaMonkey if they so choose. I only use the SM browser without the other components.
