I hope after downloading Seamonkey it's not complicated to transfer all my current old emails, profile, etc., etc. over to Seamonkey..

To summarize: Netscape 7.2 and SeaMonkey are suitres, which contain both Mail and Browser. Unless you messed up somewhere along the line, when you open Seamonkey it should pick up that profile, ptreviously, used by Netscape7.2. I had uninstalled NS7.2 in November, and SeaMonkey is using Mail, except for the over two month gap. So, unless you messed up the 7.2 profile, you will be ok. No extra work is needed.
NS8 and 9 are browser only, and are, completely independent of NS7.2 or SeaMonkey.

One can also install only the browser portion of SeaMonkey if they so choose. I only use the SM browser without the other components.

It was not the point. I was answering to the question posed by tennesseland:
Do you still recommend Seamonkey to replace Netscape Browser & Email as a suite
and
I never did download Netscape 9, should I do that first or will it even matter

Of course, nothing needs to be done, if what you have work, security not withstanding.

In a very real sense, Fulvio is correct: nothing needs to be done "if" what you currently are using is working for you (security notwithstanding). But here is where opinions enter the picture: security. I'm of the opinion that one should opt for as secure as system as possible (and as convenient which will sometimes be at odds with "as secure as possible"). Since I do my banking online, make purchases online and look at my retirement portfolio on the net, I want as secure a browser and e-mail client as I can possibly have. NS 7 is terribly out of date. It's not even a realistic alternative for me for that very reason. Development and security patches for NS 9 will shortly be discontinued. I know that many will continue to use it and feel perfectly safe while doing so, but not me. If there are security breaches and Secunia reports them, then I want a browser that will (as quickly as is feasible) patch these. It's not enough to hear words like: "As long as you don't navigate to disreputable sites and take care while viewing your e-mail etc. etc. then you should be perfectly safe with NN9."

So, were I in your shoes and I demanded a suite, I would definitely opt for SeaMonkey or Opera. If the suite is not a consideration, then I would install FF/TB. But that's just me.
