Netscape stay's behind in memory

Postby Hawk » Mon 02 Dec, 2002 7:26 pm

I had this problem with Netscape 7.0 and now I am having it with 7.01 compact. With 7.0 after closing the browser I could not start it again.

The netscp.exe file stayed behind in memory. Next thing I knew I could not start the application again.

With 7.0 it was the browser, with 7.01 compact it is the mail program. When I want to read a message in a new window, my cursor changes into an hourglass for a second and nothing happends. After that the mail program will not remove itself from my memory and I have to kill the proces manually before Netscape mail will start again.

Any help?

No help here, but I thought you would like to know you ere not alone. I loaded my N7 from the CD, and it worked great until I used any theme other than the Classic or Modern (the two it came with). Once I loaded a different theme (and I tried several) I had the same problem.

After much trial and error, I removed N7 from my system, then downloaded the N7 Browser Stand-alone. Since I did that, I can use whatever theme I want, and have not had the issue reoccur.

Good luck....

Michael
