Network Error

Postby RayK » Tue 31 Dec, 2002 8:33 pm

Operating System: Windows 98
Message Body: I have a problem that started about 2 months ago on
start-up. It takes extra long to start as for some reason when it starts
it stops at "Etherlink PCI Adapter SD-No Reply then it goes RX2 Rx2 Rx2
..........and finally shuts down and restarts. After this restart it
starts fine until I shut down and try to start again. After some trouble
shooting I did come up with this: TCP/IP Device Net Trans has a problem.
CODE=11 (OXB) Device failed: Try changing the driver for this device. I
did use the Gateway restoration disk and reinstalled the driver and have
the same problem. I am not on a network and would like to either get it
back to the way it was or take off the network so I don't have this
probelm.
Error Message Text: TCP/IP Device Net Trans has a problem. CODE=11
(OXB) Device failed

Can anyone help?

This is not a Netscape problem. Have you tried to check with Gateway?

First of all, I did a quick Google search, asking your Error Message Text.
I got one hit, at a message board, which went nowhere. So much for that.
You say that that you have no network, but TCP/IP is used for broadband. Do you have Cable or DSL (I don't know what DSL uses) ? I have cable , and if I go to Stat/Run and type winipcfg, I get all sort of information about the connections and the Ethernet Adapter which is involved. If that is there is such thing, click Release All, which give you blank slate, and then Renew All which will give you some or all new numbers. I did that when I had a problem, but with the assistance of my IP. It seems that Gateway is your IP, and I think that you should be able to have some contact with them. Not today, but certainly tomorrow.
