No access to web-based e-mails in firefox 1.5.0.6 on XPpro

Postby RK2107 » Fri 06 Oct, 2006 12:28 pm

I use WinXPpro-SP2,Firefox 1.5.0.6.All web pages open in this browser, also those which require HTTP-SSL,but not Web-based e-mail accounts.I enter 'username' & 'password' in the login page. But nothing is loaded in the page after clicking 'Sign in'.No error messages are shown.
Disabled pop-up blocker,checked TLS,SSL etc. settings,also checked for spyware using Lavasoft Ad-aware.

I was able to do "POP access" in Gmail, using "Outlook Express 6" but not able to 'Send' Outgoing mails.Received the message below when I attempted to send a message.
"ERROR:Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'Test:-', Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F".

Please help!!
