Postby fallenwarrior » Wed 22 Oct, 2008 11:49 am

This is happening at one the of school computers im try to fix up
it goes
No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers
PXE-MOF exiting intel boot agent
then boots normaly but the problem is it takes a while to boot because of this and i need to know if there is a solution
This is an IBM ThinkCentre
Its not a server and logs on using windows server 2008
It has an intergrated net
Windows xp sp3
It was ghosted from an image
So far its the only one doing this

If anyone could help me i would apreciate it.
Thank you,

1. Why are you trying to fix it up - what had gone wrong with it?
2. No DHCP offer - I don't know, but this 'sounds like' the server isn't putting out an address.
3. PXE = Pre eXecution Environment - meaning before the (OS) boot process starts
A Google search for [ "pxe-mof" ] brings up some 9000 hits. One on the first page is this one, which could be your problem. (This is the only one I looked at; you may want to educate yourself by looking at other hits.)
4. "It was ghosted" - perhaps there is an IP address hard-set, and a duplicate of something else on the network?

All the above tied together indicates to me that the computer is not in it's (school) configured 'home' environment. You'll need to adjust the settings, both in the BIOS and perhaps in the network definitions. (I think.)
