No Sound

Postby djv1 » Mon 19 Mar, 2012 9:36 pm

Hey guys, long time since I've been around.
Recently got a new(old) computer, and it did not have a sound card. I installed a new one and the drivers for it. but still nothing. volume is turned on and drivers are operating correctly. does anyone have any clue what maybe going on here? Because I'm out of ideas.

thanks

Hello Dustin, How are you?

Have you plugged in the speakers to the right plug? Usually green one.

And did you turn on the speakers? Make sure you do not "mute" it.

My wife ran into this a while back and I'm trying to remember what we did. We went into the control panel to sound. Make sure you choose the right speakers because you'll have several choices. Test each out.

I do have it in the right plug, i guess i should have added a bit more information. the computer has a sound card built in and i couldn't get it to work so i installed another sound card that i had, this computer used to be a server so I'm not sure if there is a feature that has to set up on it or what not..
