This 'Gator' which I've never heard of, is likely an IE-only thing. Luckily you can get Netscape 7 to remember passwords for you.

John,
if you use any anti-Spyware program, Gator is at the top. It is the worst type of spyware around, and I removed it. But, I had it, and my son has it now, and he counts on it. How do you intend to use Gator? I have cable, and as I recall, it was set up outside any browser. But if you need to open in the browser, it should.
However, I found out that Gator started a practice of installing its own ads, since April 2002. http://www.cexx.org/gator.htm Gator, in effect modifies the browser, and thankfully, NS7 may not allow this. I understand that there is a court case, actually initiated by Gator, seeking damages for defamation. They say that they are doing something perfectly legal. I am no fan of advertising in a browser, but I know that this is part of the deal to be able to use the browser, and, the advertisers pay for this. No Gator comes in, and without paying a penny may replace these ads with those of a competitor. This operation is permitted by means of a plugin. Now, if you really want to pursue this, you can go through your plugins in NS4.7x and find the Gator . dll, then you can copy it and paste it in the plugin folder of NS7. Basically, you installed NS7 after Gator, and so it would not have the .dll. It is your choice, but inform yourself, also.

Gator is not just spyware, IMO it is SCUMware, which makes it spyware of
the very worst kind. Why have this piece of filth polluting your system as
your password manager, when Netscape 7.0 has a far more secure and
reliable one that doesn't force unsolicited advertising in your face.

I strongly urge you to rid your system of the filth that is Gator, then run a
spyware cleaner program, such as Ad-Aware, that clears away all known
spyware and scumware components that may remain on your system.

If there is one piece of software I hate more than IE, it is Gator.

Do yourself and your computer a favour, and get rid of it!

Ohhh... that Gator. LOL, I know about them, but I thought you meant something else by the same name. Gator is massively evil. I suggest you use the browser's password manager instead.

If it's possible to be worse than evil, then IMHO, Gator is the one piece of
software that has surely acheived that status. Although, having said that,
there is just one good thing about it. Unlike IE, you can easily uninstall it!

Agreed, but I think that Gator must be run by renegade Microsoft people.
Now, control yourself( myself).
While looking for Gator evil features, I found a reference to RoboForm.
It does not have ads, the personal program is free, and it works with just about any program. It will install a toolbar in NS7 and/or IE. I think that it not evil, but one never knows. I installed it, and entered minimal information, and will see. http://www.roboform.com/
