NS7.0 and attachments visited for the first time here.

Postby Fulvio » Wed 16 Oct, 2002 11:14 am

I posted, by mistake, on the Windows forum, and the magical 701 minutes seem to have elapsed, and I am not about to start all over. So, I opened in a New Window, and copy/pasted

I have seen these question before, but I must have missed the replies.

1.How do you keep an attachment to show inline?

2. How to you delete an attachment, saving the text.

I viewed an e-mail with a jpeg attachment. Netscape7.0 showed it inline as well as an attachment. And there is no way to delete the attachment.
I viewed the message in Calypso mail, and there was nothing inline, and I could right click(context click) on the little icon, and select Delete.
I did not check 4.8, because it is not set up for that account.
I think that there is a potential for trouble the way Netscape 7 does things.

Fulvio,
I guess it has been moved, or you can ask Josh to move the thread.

We have Search function in this forum! :-)g

It is this way in Netscape 7, as always.

2. How to you delete an attachment, saving the text.
Not really, but there are work arounds.
  • You can try to reply an e-mail to yourself, and the text (by default setting in your preference) will be quoted, but not the attachements.
  • Select the email and context-click, then choose "Edit as New".

Please see Issues with Netscape 7 thread for viewing attachement inline problems.

Actually, when you receive an e-mail, you cannot select to "View attachment inline", as it was possible with 4.7x.
According to Jay Garcia, of the Champion's Board, the feature will be resurrected in Moz1.3a.
