Office 2004 released

Postby Antony » Wed 19 May, 2004 8:49 am

Microsoft Office 2004 released.
Test Drive is available.

Another Office from Microsoft, and we hope Office 2004 (for Mac OS X) is better than Office 2003 (for Windows).

If you attend WWSF 2004 early this January or watched the stream broadcast of WWSF 2004, you would have seen the lengthy (*) demonstration of the new feature of Office 2004.

New features?
PowerPoint has the popular Cube transition effect as in Keynote and Fast User Switch.
Scrapbook.
voice recording.
and quite a number of others.

However, the Pro Version is not ready yet. Microsoft is still working on the next generation of Virtual PC.

(*) Second longest demonstration of the software.

MacCentral has a report, Microsoft Office 2004 released; Test Drive available.

As for myself, I am very happy with my Office v.X.

I'd like it if they would port programs like Publisher, Access and Visio to the Mac. If I were to use a Mac as my primrary computer, it would be annoying to have to open Virtual PC and load a version of Windows - then open the application I wanted.

Good point. I use Visio only, don't use Publisher or Access.
Visual PC makes my Mac like a PC but a lot slower.
