Office for Mac 2004 support ended

Microsoft has ended its support of Microsoft Office for Mac 2004 as of 10th January, 2012. Support for Office for Mac 2008 will end on 9th April, 2013, and the support for Office for Mac 2011 will end on 12th January, 2016, according to Microsoft’s Office for blog.

The final security patch for Office 2004 is update 11.6.6 which was released in 13 December 2011.

Office for Mac 2004 was written for PowerPC processors, which means Mac OS X 10.6.8 would be the latest OS X which runs Office 2004.
Office for Mac 2008 was the first and only Office for Mac in Universal Binary format, and it requires Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.9 or later.
Office for Mac 2011 was released in October 2010 and requires Mac with an Intel processor with Mac OS X Leopard (10.5) or later.
