Hello. Out of curiosity, what is the oldest version of Netscape Navigator people have successfully posted to this forum with?

Now I'm posting with Mosaic Netscape 0.9 Beta. Amazing how it hasn't crashed yet. Any idea what the original file date was on this version?

I do know this: Mosaic 0.4 won't read the HTML used here, neither will Mosaic 0.5, and Mosaic 0.6 doesn't seem to want to validate me if I try to sign in.

Even though they're text-only, they still use HTML. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to have the links.
Plus, I don't think it wants to read anything with a MIME type of text/html or an extension of .html, so even if it were just text saved with a different MIME type of text/html and an extension of .html, it still wouldn't work. Try creating a text documents with Notepad, and use that instead, that works.

If you want to try these old browsers you can download them here: http://browsers.evolt.org. The only version of Netscape Navigator I've seen is 3.04 for Windows 95 thru XP. The oldest I've seen for Windows 3.11 is 0.4 at the link above. I think that they might work on Windows 95 and up, although I'm not sure of that.
