I'm waiting for both the Windows and Linux versions of 7.20 to come out of beta.

I briefly (5 minutes) tried 7.20 Beta 1 for Linux, and came across some issues, so I reinstalled 7.11.

I was aware of Beta 4 and 5, then I saw Beta 7 available.

This is the first time I've seen them encourage the download of a beta on the web site itself. In the past, that had been limited to those who read the Opera newsgroups.

Beta 8 available. All Beta releases are usually located at Opera forums / Beta testing ...

It is working OK at the moment....

There were only 5 Preview Releases for Netscape Communicator 4.0 (and only 3 or 4 for Mac and Linux versions)

In testing the 7.20 betas, I found the NS/MSIE bookmark importing to be busted...

Opera Community is still showing 7.20 Beta 7 is available for Windows, Linux, Free BSD, and Solaris.

I'm still waiting for 7.20 Final to be released before upgrading.

Maybe 7.2 will be faster, but I tried the 7.0 dubbed the "Fastest browser on earth" - and Firebird soundly defeated it in loading time, and rendering time

    NOTE FROM MODERATOR:

As several other betas have been offered, the title of the thread has been edited to remove the reference to Beta 3.

Opera 7.20 Beta 11 for Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris have been released.

Can be downloaded from http://snapshot.opera.com/unix/7.20-Beta-11/

One of the new features is that you have a choice of what ads to see, if you use Opera unregistered (advertiser-supported). The user can choose from either the regular ads like always, or text-based ads from Google, that are relevant to the page being viewed at the time.

Also relevant to SillyDog, is that it has a crash fix pertaining to a phpBB 2 forum reply-quote page.

Opera also had 7.20 Beta 10 for Windows available.

Redhat 9 and Windows XP Pro, although I downloaded the latest beta for Linux and installed it, the loading time is about equal of that to Mozilla Firebird under Redhat 9. Firebird still defeated Opera 7.2 beta version on Windows XP though. :-)

7.20 is still in beta, so I'm sure it's subject to constant tinkering while in that state. :)
