I installed Opera 7.50 on an old PC (5 years) I've been upgrading, switched it to a Windows native skin, and it's just about as quick as Netscape 7.1 is on my newest PC with a good processor and lots of RAM. No other browser does as well for speed on the old machine.

Since Opera released v7.50 (Final) this week, I've made this thread sticky,
and I've placed the "Opera 7.50 Beta 1 Released" thread on lockdown . . .

Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

My currently Linux-only system (166 MHz Intel Pentium/MMX) does not meet the minimum system specifications for Mozilla, yet it runs, although very slow.

Opera, on the other hand, is considerably faster on that Pentium system than Mozilla. In fact, I once said to myself that if Opera introduced a version for Linux that included an e-mail client and newsreader, I would convert to Linux, which I did last June, on top of rebuilding that Pentium system.
