Opera 8.0 Beta 1 for Linux released

Postby Edward » Sun 09 Jan, 2005 9:09 am

Opera Software has released Opera 8.0 Beta 1 for Linux, Solaris, and FreeBSD.

The changelog is at http://snapshot.opera.com/unix/operabeta.html, which includes a link to download. If you prefer the Static-QT package, in the distribution vendor pulldown menu, select "Other/Static RPM" in the pulldown menu and click the Static QT button.

I use the Static QT package. The default fonts listed in Preferences are Bitstream fonts, and from what I can see, this is MUCH better than the fonts the previous releases used. They're cleaner and much easier to read (at least on my system).
