According to
this article at TheRegister, it seems that Microsoft
might not be bothering to continue
development of Outlook Express after all. They seem to be of the opinion that Outlook Express has
now become little more than an unwanted orphan, since Microsoft's decision, earlier this year, to
scrap IE as a standalone app, and making it purely into an integrated component of Windows.
My theory is that if Microsoft do continue to develop Outlook Express, it'll end up being ditched
as a standalone app like IE, and eventually become just an integrated component of Windows.
Anyone that wants to upgrade to the next version, will have to buy it as part of the next
version of Windows, which as we all know, isn't due until sometime during 2005.
Here's hoping Mozilla Thunderbird is soon developed into an adequate replacement for OE.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!
