parental controls monitor kids?

Postby Afra » Tue 31 Jan, 2012 9:12 pm

I am new to this forum. I've just heard that the parental controls on Mac 10.5 can monitor what my kids have done online. Is it true? How can I set the parental controls to track which sites your kids have viewed? Anyone have experience about it??? Thx in advance

There's no built-in method to spy your kids, other than checking the History of the browser after you kids used the computer.
You can limit the access to certain websites or limit the running of certain apps for your kids.

To spy on your kid's activity, you need other application.

Why do I have a feeling that there will be a new member signing up just to post over-detailed usage guide on a never-heard-of spying ware?

(I think I'd better post a screenshot for everybody to see.)

So, you ended up came back yourself by adjusting your own signature with links to never-heard-of software which answers your own (pretended) question? You do realise such hidden signature spamming does no help except making yourself and your advertised products look very very bad.

For your information, SillyDog701 Message Centre does not censor links to other sites, except spamming.
Linking to other forums or websites (e.g. Jay Garcia's ufaq, windowsbbs ... etc) with relevant information is perfect fine and is encouraged. This does not apply to spam or hidden links.

This kind of parental control software maybe like a spy, it records your computer information and keeps track of what is happening on your computer.

Yes, we know. Are you coming back again to insert hidden links? Or you have a friend to post some links for you?

I was right.

One month after your pointless post, you returned and added a spam link to your signature.

Bye.

Here's a screenshot for the record.

I think the best software for parental control you can have now, is Net Nanny. I can also recommend http :// www. pcpandora. com and http :// www. pcwebcontrol. com

Plenty of monitoring options 8-)

Or you could just parent your kids, and teach them right from wrong. Ya know, that old trusty tried and true method.

Well, today's well (and over) protected kids somehow do need some sort of parental control.
Many of today's parents leave the basic behaviour teaching tasks to schools. And today's schools are afraid of kids and parents. (Teachers can't even touch students.)
So, parental control (or spying rather) is the solution for today's parents.
