pass command did not succeed. unable to process from lines

Postby anja » Mon 17 May, 2004 3:54 pm

Have not been able to pull incoming emails for a week.
Receive the message:
The pass command did not succeed. Mail server ******.com responded:
(sys/perm) unable to process from lines (envelopes), change recognition
modes or check for corrupted mail drop.
??????????
Thanks :(

Is this regular POP mail or Netscape WebMail? I am assuming, in my response, that it is regular POP mail.

Some recent threads, which may or may not help, here at SillyDog with the phrase, "pass Command", in them are:

Netscape Mail has stopped working
Retreiving email

You may also do your own search here at SillyDog for those words and find more threads with that phrase.

There is the possibility that your mailbox at your ISP has a bad or large E-mail in it. Use, if available, your ISP's web access of E-mail to check for a bad or large E-mail. Deleting, if present, the problem E-mail would then solve the problem.

More expert help will probably post here soon.
