Phoenix and Minotaur - New Names finally chosen . . .

Postby DJGM » Tue 15 Apr, 2003 4:16 am

After months of speculation and legal wrangling, it has been decided that
the new name for the standalone spin off Mozilla browser will be Firebird.
As for the standalone mail app, Minotaur, that will become Thunderbird.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

It is a funny one, with all the tongue in cheek comments. And, is Firebird final?

Great names, I hope the apps are jus as good :)

Someone at MozillaZine suggested using the 'bird' names for Composer/Calender etc, what do people think of this? I think It'd be a good idea. IceBird for Composer, AirBird for Callendar etc
