And the exact same thing same thing can be said about the Xbox 360, only substituting Blu-ray for HD-DVD.
However, you will need to buy the optional Xbox 360 HD-DVD Player which costs US$199.99 or AU$250. That makes Xbox 360 AU$900 which is only AU$100 cheaper than Sony PlayStation 3.

PlayStation 3 comes with 60GB hard drive and Blu-ray as standard. (Xbox only comes with 20GB hard drive.)

The Register has 10 reasons why you should buy a PlayStation 3.

If you haven't decided which game console to buy, you should check this out...
If you already own a Wii or an Xbox 360, and thinking about getting a second game console, you might want to check this out as well...
(If you already have a Wii, an Xbos 360 and a PlayStation 3, you don't need to read this.)

Ten reasons why you should buy a PlayStation 3

this site is quite funny: http://www.ukresistance.co.uk/

out of interest, i went to my argos earlier today whilst in town getting a few bits for the weekend and did a stock check myself.

playstation 3: 42
xbox360: 8
wii: 0

given the nintendo wii will be having an exclusive follow up to the amazing nights into dreams, i fear i will be splashing out on a wii when i can eventually get my hands on one.

also have a look at this: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php? ... 1&type=wmv

i never thought the trailers where a fully true representation of the ps3 capabilities, but it doesn't look that much better than a ps2 game tbh.

PlayStation 3 is the most expensive one, and Nintendo Wii does have two good selling points
1) cheapest of three
2) it does encourage kids to get up and use whole body (arms at least) to play the same, instead of just 'sitting there', hence it is preferred by the parents.
