Please Help with Netscape 6.2 mail connection issues

Postby Cathyb0 » Thu 06 Oct, 2005 12:34 am

Hi,

I absolutely hate the new browser mail interface with Netscape 8.0. So, I installed Eudora, but I can't access my Netscape webmail with it because of the proprietary set-up. I heard there was some way to set up a free POP3 account that could access webmail. Does anybody know anything about it? Then I installed Netscape 7.1 and it somehow screwed up my internet connection the two times that I installed it and I had to uninstall it and reinstall my dialer. Besides that, from what I remember I was very unhappy with Netscape 7.x mail when I upgraded from 6.x because of all the new bugs. Then I downloaded Netscape 6.2 and it hangs when I try to access my webmail. It says "connecting to server" forever. When I try to access my POP3 account, it says my password is wrong. I use very few passwords and I don't see how my password can possibly be wrong, but maybe it is wrong because it does connect to the server at least. Does anybody have any ideas? I wish Netscape had not been taken over by AOL because things have gone way downhill since then.

Sorry, this post was off-topic for this board. I should have posted to the Netscape 6/7 board. Saw "Early NS" and thought I was in the right place. I will repost there.
