Hi !

I'd like my site to appear with a certain font-family. As my visitor may not have this font-family, how could i do ?

Thanx for your answer !

There isn't any way that you can install a font in such a way that you're looking for, unless you would want such functionality to be used in IE only via an ActiveX control to install the font. Your best bet is to use the closest match that's a standard font (like Times New Roman or Arial on Windows or Times/Roman or Helvetica on Mac/Linux).

For example, I've got HardwareHacks using the OCR A Extended font for headings and titles, but I know that not everybody has the OCR A Extended font installed, so I offer a generic teletype font as an alternative. Therefore the stylesheet looks a lot like this:
Code: Select all
H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6, #title {font-family: ocr a extended, monospace;}
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040804 Donzilla/0.6PR2 (like Netscape/7.2; wml/1.3)
Laptop: HP Compaq nx6325 - Turion 64 X2 @ 2GHz, 2GB DDR2, 100GB HD, ATI Radeon X300, 15" LCD, Seven Pro
Handheld: Palm Treo 650 - Intel PXA270 @ 312MHz, 10MB RAM, 32MB flash, 2.7" LCD, Palm OS 5.4
