Preferences - Sending Attachments and Typing Speed

Postby taitjim » Mon 07 Jun, 2004 6:43 pm

When trying to send an attachment, I get an error message that says "Please verify that your Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings are accurate, and try again." What is accurate? E-mails without attachments are fine. Help!

Also, my typing speed is TERRIBLY slow -- i.e., the characters don't appear on the screen nearly as fast as I type. I think I have sufficient RAM so that isn't the problem (320 MB). Help!

Thanks much -- this site has been VERY helpful...

It could be a combination of processor speed and RAM. Even if you do have 320MB of RAM, if your processor is too slow you might not be able to get fast typing speed. I would think that you should have around 667MHz of processor power according to the system reqirements.

Sending Attachments

Postby taitjim » Wed 09 Jun, 2004 7:27 am

I still have the same problem -- it won't send attachments, giving me the same error message. Everything else seems to work just fine. I need to send an attachment to get some software registered by June 20, so I'm anxious to solve this quickly. I'm afraid I don't have a clue as to what you mean about "processor power" or how to find how much I have. Hope you can help...
