Prevention of missing scrollbars

Postby Anonymosity » Mon 23 Jul, 2012 6:23 pm

Why is it that with one theme on Thunderbird 14, I have to restart Thunderbird after launching for the first time after a boot before I see scrollbars (unless I hover over the thumb)? The same code can be present in a similar theme for Firefox, and that problem is not occurring with Firefox 14.0.1.

Why is it that some themes for Firefox do not show any scrollbar or only part of a scrollbar the first time launched after a reboot, but others have no problem? The scrollbar looks fine if Firefox is restarted. What code should be present and what should not be present in the scrollbar.css file?

Which theme? I have, never, seen anything which you describe with any Theme which I have tried?

The theme in question for Thunderbird is Glowyblue Thunder. The ones for Firefox are Halloween and OldFactory.

The three themes which you mentioned are pretty old (I had never heard of them). Two were issued in 2007, and one in 2008. I can find that only OldFactory has had a definite update, in March 2012. I cannot find anything recent about the other two themes. It is immensely irritating when themes have irritating behavior as programs are updated, but it is the nature of the beast.
