This continues Random Posts 2010 thread.

I will start off for 2011:
* It is good to be back home. After travelling to South Adelaide and central Australia (Alice Springs and Ayers Rock) for our 2 weeks holiday, I found the 27°C in Sydney nice and cool (I usually refer to that as quite hot).

Random thoughts:

The Northeast US has had unrelenting cold weather, snow is not melting. This is how ice ages start. Snow accumulates, does not melt in unusual severe cold, the radiant energy from the sun is reflected back out by then snow pack, the next years continue and we have: an ice age.

Corollary, especially weather in the Northeast US affects the brains in our Congress. In periods of unrelenting cold, the ice age scientists do better getting grant money. In unrelenting Summer heat, the greenhouse guys get the money.

Antony is forgetful. I changed my internet from iiNet to Telstra BigPond Cable on 2nd December 2010, and initially I intended to keep the account with iiNet for a few weeks (in case the Telstra BigPond Cable did not go well), but only until today, I finally called iiNet to terminate my account. In other word, I paid 1+ month of access fee for absolutely zero usage.

Ah well Antony... you're rich so it shouldn't matter that much; right?!

Well, I am not rich, but it was not a big deal. Comparing to the costs of other basic items, it was not that much.

While paying for the items in Kmart, I got told off by a white environmental extremist simply because I said yes to have a plastic bag to carry the items. Out of that white extremist's expectation(*), I responded back strongly.

Just picked up four 17" Dell 1702FP LCD monitors out of the trash. :) Sadly no DC bricks along with them, so it's anybody's guess if they work.

Congratulations. Now, how many monitors (external) do you have?

Also, I recall you told me many times how good CRT is better than LCD/LED. As in you hate LCDs / LEDs.

If I can get cheap adapters, I'm going to keep three of them, sell the fourth, and most likely sell my CRT monitors if I can for a grand total of three.

You need to stop misjudging my words, it seems.

You can have more than three monitors, you know. You don't need to limit yourself.

Didn't you tell me many advantages of CRT over LCD / LED.

So, how's your 17-inch LCD working?

I don't have power cords for them, sadly. I am trying to sell them.

Recently, I visited a friend's place. She asked me to close the door of the room, I asked why? She told me the air conditioner was on. Then I realised that I shall close the doors when using the air conditioner... Something I haven't been doing for the last few years. I've been leaving the door open while having the air conditioner on in my room.

Antony does not speak English. More than 2 months into 2011, Antony still reads "2011" as two thousand and one (2001).
