Cngratulations John.

Don't worry, Antony was poorer than you are now when he was in school.
Antony did not have a mp3 player when he was in high school, only had a Walkman (cassette version, not CD) when he was 17 or so... , and like what Don knows well, Antony did not and still does not have PDA, camcorder etc. Hope this will make you feel better.

Finally, I finished all Xena: Warrior Princess DVDs.

That's 6 seasons, and 6 discs each season.

Don't worry, Antony is poor, he rented those from Quickflix. He can't afford buying all those DVDs

I feel so badly for you, Antony (due to your poverty). Wishing you well in your future endeavors. But cheer up... you've finished Xena Warrior Princess so it's on to new adventures. :)

Thank you James.

Speaking about "new adventures", here's "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" also in my list of DVDs to rent.

Don't worry, I am not really a TV junkie, but from time to time, I have one or two must-watch TV shows. ;-)

Thursday night here is our late shopping night. Yesterday I went to city for late night window shopping, I was really surprised with the lack of people out there. Was the economy really that bad? Or the weather was way too cold? Some bigger stores had more staff than shoppers, that was a worry.

The cold, hard truth, Antony, is that the world economy is in very serious shape. If the US defaults, not only will the US spin into a depression but there will be a domino affect around the globe. We're all tied together economically and what affects a huge economy such as the American, will ultimately affect the economies of other countries. This could be a financial Armageddon and I honestly do not think it is merely politics as usual. We're talking about a country whose debt is now over 14 trillion dollars and growing astronomically every day.

-Took and passed a placement exam to take ENG101 (College English) this upcoming school year. Making it two college classes I'm taking my senior year of high school. I'd take more, but my school only offers two. Intro to American History, and ENG101.
-The upgrades to my desktop have been quite nice. Windows 7 is might snappy.
-Can't believe that the summer is almost over. Now I'm going to have to manage school/work/drama club all over again, fun times.
-Did I mention I'm also president of two other clubs? Fun fun fun!

You're a go-getter, John. I see young guys in high school and even college surfing away their lives while others have their noses to the grindstone and are preparing ahead of time. Guess who will get the sought-after career.

I am president of my schools Gay-Straight Alliance and the book club. Although I do not know if we are doing the book club again this year, as I have not met with out new principal.

-Weather hasn't cooled down at all, and it's wicked humid out.
-Pentium D runs considerably hotter than the Pentium 4. Oh well.
-4 Gigs of Ram is so nice, most I've ever had in a desktop.
-Thinking about setting up a Hackintosh, just to see if it is useable.

You guys probably won't believe how cheap Antony is. He drove 4 km (or 2.5 miles) from one shopping centre to another one just to save 20 cents for the Mega Choc Shake (from Wendy's ice cream, different franchisees). (that was before factoring in the cost of petrol of course.)

Conclusion: Antony is poor.

So I'll assume you took Laurent's Mitsubishi Lancer / Mirage, which is rated for about 22 miles per gallon in normal city driving, which equates to about 9.35 km per liter. According to AIP, the average cost of fuel in Australia is roughly 142 cents per liter. So 4km is about 0.42 liters of fuel, which would have been 59 cents worth of driving.

Congratulations for spending 39 cents more than you would have otherwise on your Mega Choc Shake!
