Registry.this and dat

Postby Fulvio » Tue 16 Jul, 2002 10:01 am

An interesting discussion came up at the Champion's forum, where someone questioned the reason for the large size of the file Registry.dat in the Mozilla folder of Application Data. And, someone said the data is continually added to the file, and that this will slow down the program, especially with someone with several Profiles.
You get the drift. I got off and on seven profiles, so I have a 68 MB
behemoth, and Beonex, which used to be really fast, initially, with its own one and only Profile is exceeding 2MB. So,if this keeps up Netscape will surpass Internet Explorer in size, and come to a grinding halt. Scary,is it not? :!: :( :?:

The info stored within that file is the path of your profile(s) and some plugin cache info. That is why the file size varies. It is strange, though...mine is 22MB...
