Removing AOL for Netscape 7

Postby LongDaysNight » Tue 27 Sep, 2005 6:16 am

HELP!!!! I need to put netscape 7 out using SMS, however I am NOT a programmer but need to modify the installation specifically taking out the online chat and AOL stuff, I am not real familiar with putting together MSI files, however I follow instructions very well.
Can anyone share any info on creating a Netscape deployment package?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
:D

Few years ago, when I was making Netscape Streamline series, some early versions do not have NIM (Netscape IM, includes AIM and ICQ). To remove those, all you need to do is edit the installation file.

Once you have the install files extracted for NS7 (by default they extract to %TMP%\nstemp), copy them somewhere else, and edit out any lines that refer to "NIM.xpi" or "Component Instant Messenger". That should work, but no guarantees.
