SafariTest - Safari rendering service

Postby DJGM » Tue 28 Feb, 2006 1:38 pm

Ever wondered how users of Mac OS X can see your webpages in their beloved Safari web browser?

Want to see how Safari renders your website, without going to the expense of buying a Macintosh?

Try SafariTest from Snugtech.com ... simply enter the URL of your site, or any other site, choose
a screen resolution, then click view. After a few seconds, SafariTest displays an screenshot of
the webpage, exactly as it appears when rendered in Apple's Safari web browser.

Of course, it's not as good as actually viewing your page in your own copy of Safari, on your own
(fully licensed) copy of Mac OS X, running on your very own Macintosh computer. But if you're
unable to buy a Mac (or even if you don't want to buy a Mac) it's certainly helps you to see
how Mac users are viewing your website, so you can make any necessary changes.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

Interesting service. I guess it'd be helpful to those who just want to see their site in Safari. But if someone needs to do extensive website testing in Safari or other KHTML-based browsers, and doesn't have a Mac, wouldn't it be easier to grab a bootable Linux distro, and run their tests in Konqueror?

It would.
Of course, it won't be as accurate as getting a real Mac (and licensed Mac OS X). You won't be able to experiment the webpages in action with SafariTest service. Konqueror can provide some of those actions I believe.

You should test your website with MSIE (for Windows) at least. It's the most popular browser in the market.
