SCO wants to scupper Novell/SuSE deal . . .

Postby DJGM » Tue 18 Nov, 2003 2:32 pm

SCO's CEO Darl "Mr. Clean" McBride is threatening legal action against Novell
should its buy of SuSE be completed. The SCO chief laid down the law,
so to speak, in a revealing interview to IDG News Service

The SCO Group is charging that Novell's purchase of SuSE Linux would
put it in violation of a non-compete agreement signed between Novell
and The Santa Cruz Operation. The non-compete deal was part of
the Unix System V agreement the two companies forged in 1995.

I start to believe more and more that they are funded by Microsoft. No company wants to disgrase (wrongfully spelled I think; am dutch ;-) ) such a big community. Their claims are unfunded as they themselves brake the open source licenses.

Sadly, SCO/Caldera's lawsuit against IBM is scaring me off from trying GNU/Linux. I just hope this gets resolved and SCO/Caldera get rebuked big time.

I purchased a copy of SuSE Linux Personal 9.0 yesterday, I'm not concerned about using it.

I am in agreement with DJGM.

Mr. Clean...
