Gee, that's nearly one a month.

Out of curiosity, how'd you get the floating taskbar? Is that a dock program in disguise, or is it built into XP?

One possible explanation is the operating System....'Windac OFP 2009'

As If! That might be one way of making Microsoft creditable anyways! Believe it or not this is my actual Desktop with a floating Taskbar super-imposed on it. (Maybe GatesCo should take note - the docked bar is boring! Maybe they'll introduce in in 2023 at the Launch of 'Re-Vista' when they're trying to extract blood from the Chinese desperately as the rest of the world will have long-since given up on them).

The image is also my own work and it can be downloaded at the wallpaper section of

http://www.keiraknightley.net

This and other examples of my work are under the name JMDGraphics 2005 (John McDonagh)

I also have several examples of Eva Longoria Wallpapers at:

http://www.eva-longoria.net

All are at 1200px x 900px resolution

When you have consistently had as many problems with XP as I have you can but dream of other things, as I do of buying a Mac or Two when I have the cash. Unfortunately one or two of the apps I use do not come in Mac Versions. Price is also still an issue as are the exhorbitant rip-off taxes and duty we have to pay outside of the US. However I look at things I'm strung up by the short and curlies for the time being.

Wonder if anyone's on hand to help me out with the latest issues I'm having - (posted in the Windows) board! I'm waiting 24 hours so far for a response on any one of 3 threads I started.

Has someone locked the dog up?

I'm recycling a background wallpaper that I used before, if that image looks familiar.

slightly off topic

Cool!
I spotted the Photoshop Elements in your desktop.
If I remember correctly, Mandrake uses Photoshop Elements, and Don uses Photoshop Elements, and I use Photoshop Elements.

I don't see the need for (full version) Photoshop for myself.

Yes, I use Photoshop Elements v2.0 and have no plans to upgrade. v3 (and I assume v4 as well) are WAY too beginner-oriented for me to use in any efficient way. Photoshop CS/CS2 just seems like overkill to me.

Here's my Pentium 4's Desktop. Running Mac OS X v10.4.1 (x86), in the taskbar you can see the following items:

  • Terminal
  • Safari (with CVS WebKit, hence the "gold" icon)
  • X-Chat
  • iChat (which I de-metalized, as you can see on the picture)
  • MSN Messenger 4 (with MSN 3.5's icon)
  • iTunes 3 (yes, iTunes v3)
  • DosBox86 Dynamic Core Version
  • Wine for Mac OS X
  • The Applications folder
  • The Trash

Latest on XP Pro . . .

Hell must have frozen over because this is the first time I've used a light wallpaper (most others were a lot darker). I still have only one icon on my desktop, though...

...full version with no start menu here...and original here if anyone is interested.

DJGM, I just feel the building (on your desktop wallpaper) is a bit bent. Is that the real building or some sort of camera effect?

No, it's a real building I took a few pictures of when I was in London a couple of days ago.

It's the "London Studios", formerly the home of London Weekend Television, and is now
the main TV studios and production centre for ITV and Granada productions in London.

I knew that building looked familiar!

I know many of you like my collection of Carlson Twins desktop screenshot. So I wrote a blog entry featuring our beloved Carlson Twins.

Enjoy!
