I downloaded and installed SeaMonkey and everything is working fine. Mail program looks good. Goodbye IE and outlook express. Thanks Don HH2K for the information and the download location.

Unfortunately, you will have to use IE, in some cases, although the IE Tab extention can be used for most Microsoft sites.

Not familiar with IE Tab extention and when would I need to use it? I still have IE and outlook express on my computer.I used to have netscape 7.2 and never had a problem. You ruined my day! Just kidding. Thanks

The IETab extension loads the browser engine of IE inside a tab within SeaMonkey and Firefox.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks! |

You say a tab within SeaMonkey. Is this a visible tab that I would use or a tab that wold come into play when needed?
It's a dumb question I know but I just don't understand.

IETab is an "extension", which you download and it installs itself in the browser and gives you an icon.
If you have sites which *require* ActiveX, then you need some way to get to IE. This just avoids the waste of time in opening IE, you just flex into it in Seamonkey (or Firefox).
BTW, I have it in both Seamonkey, my default browser, and Firefox; but I got Seamonkey's from the Mozilla extension site, and Firefox's from the Firefox extension site. I am not sure, others can tell you, I am not sure that they are identical.

I won't install the extention now but have saved it and when the time comes, if it does, I will download and install it then. I am thinking with the way I use my computer it may not be a problem with out the IETab.
Thanks to all for the help.

The IE Tab does not look like a tab, but it shows up in my Seamonkey as a button on the far right of the URL (Navigation) Toolbar. You just set up its options, and with the Filters allow you allow some sites. My primary use of the IE Tab has been with Windows Update, and Trendmicro which requires ActiveX in the US (although I, usually, use Trend Micro.uk which uses Java).
