New power supply arrived today! And for once the package didn't get left out in the rain! Smile

Unlike the other two Targus adapters I tried, this one works fine.

So you bought the 'official' power adapter from HP?

My Jinx bumper sticker arrived today. I don't have a car to put it on, so...

They also sent me a generic "J!NX" skull-logo sticker along with it for free. I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet.

I bought some new stuff for my PC a while ago. First I replaced all the old (loud!) case fans for new Antec TriCool fans that are a heap quieter, makes a huge difference.

I got an Xbox 360 controller as well, playing Resident Evil 4 with the keyboard just didn't work well at all. Razz Works great for other games like Need for Speed Underground too.

Finally I got myself a new toy too. One of these. I'll post a picture of that later. Smile

Just to remind everyone and, in particular, Don; Mandrake is poor.

With your RICH, quiet Antec TriCool fans? My case fan was a cheap $4.95 one and is way too noisy. And don't get me started on how loud either of the desktop power supplies are.

WOW! Rich! A PC capable of running Resident Evil 4 and Need for Speed Underground! Remember, integrated graphics -> LAG.

And an expensive 22" LCD monitor! Geez, the best I have is a 17" CRT with a ghosting problem that I paid a grand total of $0.00 for.

New PC today! Well, it's not so new, but I got it for $2.50 at a local CompUSA that's closing a few hours from now. Another 500MHz P3, except this one has 128MB of memory and a TNT graphics card. I don't know if the sound and LAN cards work yet.

Currently it's a mess - it'll boot Memtest86+ alright, so I know the CPU and RAM are workable. The only drive it has is a floppy drive, so I'll need to buy a hard drive and CD drive at some point in the future.

Also, the power supply fan is very loud - loud enough I sure wouldn't be able to sleep through it, so this rules out using it as a server.

While I was there I also got a PS/2 keyboard for 99 cents.

You can either cover up the computer or get a new Power Supply Unit.

I thought you'd be interested to read the system requirements for this game:

Need for Speed Underground:

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Windows 98, 98 Second Edition, ME, 2000 Professional, XP Professional,
or XP Home operating system
Intel Pentium III (or compatible) CPU running at 700Mhz or higher
32MB DirectX 9 compatible video card (Geforce2 or higher) using a
supported chipset (see below)
128MB of RAM (256 MB using Windows 2000 or XP)

2 GB of HD space
8X CD-ROM

Your laptop could easily run that. Wow! Don has an expensive laptop capable of running Need for Speed Underground! Arrow Rich!

Yeah, that'd be true, if it weren't for...

On Wednesday I won't meet this requirement anymore, since that's when my free trial copy of XP expires. Sad
