I recently reformatted my HD. Now I can't get netscape.net email back into MS Outlook. Can someone give me the complete instructions in case I am doing something incorrectly.
Also, PET PEEVE, why is the Netscape 8.0 download page blocking almost everying I try to do from Netscape home page. I can't bypass it and usually have to use another browser.
Thanks for your help. It is much appreciated.

How were you converting netscape to outlook before? Below is my post about a similar problem.

For technical reasons (sync with my pda) and because Netscape is not going to update Messenger to version 8, I need to convert about 10 years of email to Outlook. Does anyone know a simple way to do this? I contacted Netscape "support" which is run by InfoSpan and they sent me instruction on how to "import" into Netscape. I resent the request and they said they do not support third party software (ie. Outlook). I have never got a straight answer from them. No surprise, their tech support is located offshore.

I was able to read 7.1 email folders with 4.7 and import 4.7 into Outlook express and then import Outlook Express into Outlook 2003. This works but it takes a while and drops out some folders. Does anyone know a better way??

Couple days ago I heard about one tool-.ost viewing tool.It helped me a lot of times and executed it for free.Program recover all my mails and could demonstrated how extract all data from this mailbox or transform it into a *.pst file, that can be easily opened offline by Microsoft Outlook or any other mail client.

As far as I know, that's the way it is done. And, Netscape is not to blame. Microsoft has not recognized, especially NS7.x and the like. Unless there is a special third party program, as mentioned above.
FYI, AOL which owned Netscape did come out with NS8 and NS9, which were browser only.
They never came out with a Mail program, and relied on Mozilla Thunderbird for Mail.
I think that AOL abandoned any Netscape some two years ago. I have been using a combination of Firefox, the browser on which NS8 and 9 were based, and Thunderbird for Mail.
